| RAG supports the arts |
|
|
Here at RAG, we believe in top-notch, twenty-first-century contemporary arts, crafts, writing, performance and music.
To deliver, we team up with Sussex businesses, like The Acacia Guesthouse & Gallery, Baby Lamb Software, Duende Flamenco and Cairnx, who are energetic and enthusiastic in what they do. We also work with the best and most active Sussex arts groups, like SusArt and The Bamboo Band, and many Worthing arts groups, like the Worthing Art Trail and Celebration Samba. If you're a motivated individual, active group or go-getting organisation interested in joining us, email [email protected] - we'd love to hear from you.

A Worthing organisation has shown support for the arts by making grants to support two local events.
The Worthing Community Arts Council (WCAC) was formed three years ago to support arts groups in the town. The organisation, whose members include Rainbow Theatre, the Textile Arts Forum and West Sussex Writers Club, has made grants to the Worthing Music Festival and to RAG.

Rainbow Shakespeare is an undisputed highlight of the Worthing Arts Festival. You can catch Twelfth Night and The Merry Wives of Windsor this year, performed in a no-nonsense style. Rainbow's open air Shakespeare, a highlight of the Worthing arts calendar, was founded with a run of Twelfth Night on the beach, and RAG's Dan Thompson was lucky enough to be production manager. He's been back helping out again this year, in the enchanted gardens at Highdown. Dan has also hung his faeries (made during the Art Trail 2001) in the woods.

A fiery flamenco performance launches a programme of music which gives the Worthing Fringe (which runs alongside the Worthing Arts Festival) an international flavour. The concert, part of a series of events organised by Duende and RAG, sees guitarist Ramon Ruiz and singer Manuel de Cadiz perform at The Barn Theatre, Field Place.
Ramon Ruiz, a Flamenco guitarist of great repute both in the UK and in Spain, performed a sold-out concert which was a highlight of last years Worthing Fringe.
