'We Love You thats the message that performance artists from the Revolutionary Arts Groop will be sending out this weekend.

In a series of what artist Dan Thompson describes as tricks, pranks and interventions in everyday life, the group will be looking at whats so funny about peace, love and understanding. While some events will be very public, others will happen more quietly around the town.

Did you receive one of Dan Thompson's handmade Valentine's cards, mailed to the 50 most influential people in Worthing? Or did you get handed a We Love You postcard by one of our artists? If so, please post a comment below - thank you.

All the events will take place on the weekend before Valentines Day, and in Worthing town centre this Saturday 11th February Dan will lead a team handing out We Love You postcards to Worthings shoppers, in an event supported by the Face Media Group.

And on Sunday morning hell be mailing handmade Valentines cards to the fifty most influential people in Worthing. The list of movers and shakers sees shopkeepers alongside spiritual leaders, council officers alongside contemporary artists and anarchists alongside architects. The list is split roughly half-men, half-women, says Dan, and includes fifty people of every age who are making a difference to the landscape of Worthing.

Other artists involved in the We Love You weekend include controversial video artist Nathan Bean and Danish artist Ingrid Plum.

Nathan, who rose to prominence when his work was banned by Worthing Museum & Art Gallery, will be shooting some more films in his Heart series. Previous films, including a magpie pecking a heart and a woman grating one, have been shown in Worthing, Brighton and London galleries.

Ingrid is well known for both her video work, and series of pieces involving origami cranes. She has just been commissioned to install a collection of the paper birds in the foyer of the refurbished Embassy Court, Brighton.

'We Love You' also sees the launch of a new interactive art project, 'Love Lost' ... based around a website collecting stories about lost love.

RAG launched the annual We Love You festival with a series of events at boutique guesthouse The Acacia in 2003. Previous stunts included hanging We Love You banners on roundabouts and railings around the town.

This years festival is supported by Worthing Arts Council and Face Media Group.
