Roundabout Tsunami Fundraiser

Over a dozen bands and performers have come together for a West Sussex art organisations own version of Live Aid.

The team behind RAGs Roundabout have put together a massive line up for a special event on Saturday 15th January. The night at St Matthews, Tarring Road, Worthing, will raise funds for the Disasters Emergency Committees Tsunami Earthquake Appeal and also provide a much-needed donation of tools for Friends of Maldives.

Among the diverse acts appearing are Eagles tribute Flyin Eyes and calypsonians The Bamboo Band. There will be acoustic rock from Arrowsmith-Stezaker, and an acoustic appearance by Shiseido Red. Folk band The Golgi Apparatus, St Matthews own Veritas Band and singer-songwriters Adrian Truman and David Pickersgill will also appear.

There will be spoken word from Sarah Palmer and Dan Thompson, and the evening will be compered by Steve Carroll. Rounding off the entertainment will be performers from Duende Flamenco.

A team of volunteers will help run the event, and all the professional performers will be appearing free of charge. There will also be a raffle, with prizes including a reflexology session, the opportunity to have a portrait taken by a professional photographer, beauty treatment, a set of landscape photographs by a professional artist and masses of CDs donated by a local PR company.

Worthing Plus have sponsored refreshments, and a fair trade caf will operate all evening. The Printers and Inspiration by Design have provided flyers and posters for the event.

Adding to the fund will be a Phone A Friend feature so even if you dont attend yourself you may receive a call asking you to donate. An appeal totaliser will be updated throughout the evening, keeping track of all donations.

Roundabout takes place at St Matthews Tarring Road, Worthing on Saturday 15th January, and doors open at 7pm. Admission is 5 on the door, with concessions 2.50.

    Roundabout
Bottling the early 21st century zeitgeist, Roundabout is brought to you by a gang of edgy artists, renegade rockers, wonderful wordsmiths and acoustic acrobats.
