New Artists Show at St Matthew's

Getting ready for the Brighton Festival? Warm up your artistic taste-buds with a special spring Artists & Makers at St Matthews.

Sumptuous textiles, exclusive contemporary paintings and prints, designer jewellery, beautiful frames and mirrors, cushions, quilts and other affordable - but unique contemporary arts and crafts are set to fill St Matthews on the last weekend in April.

Some new artists, makers and designers will make their RAG debut appearance at St Matthews. They include Lou Johns who will be showing a range of sculptural pieces, in stone, bronze and cast concrete, and Helena Weaver who trained at the Royal College of Art, graduating with an MA in Sculpture.

Other RAG members exhibiting include jeweller Faye Brunning, textile artist Tricia Neve and painter Tracey Thompson. Painter and illustrator Sheila Guyatt will have a range of work, including cards and prints, for sale. Dan Thompson will show a range of paintings, alongside handmade cards, and Nathan Bean will have digital work on show, including large-scale prints alongside video art.

This is a great warm up for many RAG artists showing during the Brighton Festival, says exhibition organiser Dan Thompson, with a range of work to add a fresh spring touch to any interior.

Artists & Makers at St Matthews, Tarring Road, Worthing takes place from 7 9pm on Friday 28th April.

The event will also be open from 10am 6pm on Saturday 29th April. RAGs fairtrade caf will be open during the event.
