the Creative Conference is aimed at a diverse group of artists, makers, designers, musicians, writers and small businesses based in and around the town.

As well as speakers and workshops, there will be a marketplace at the end of the afternoon - with local arts organisations and other creative businesses promoting their services, and lots of opportunities to network. Tickets cost just 5 in advance and can be ordered from RAG.

The full line-up of speakers, and stands in the marketplace, is coming together.

Artist Ingrid Plum has just been commissioned for an unusual piece of public art during the Brighton Festival - an installation of origami birds in the foyer of the recently refurbished Embassy Court. Ingrid and Cara Courage from Marscape (who are managing the project) will be talking about the benefits of this example of public art.

Deborah Rawson will be talking about eta's newest project the Meta.Gallery. It's an interesting example of an artist-led exhibition space.

And Ottakars books will be taking space in the marketplace, promoting their Worthing store as a venue for performance, readings and other events.
