    Textile Arts Forum Exhibition

Worthing Museums first exhibition of 2005 is a cracking way to start the New Year! Opening on Saturday 29 January, Sisters Select features a stunning array of work by Worthing Arts Council members the Textile Arts Forum.

The Textile Arts Forum was established in April 2002 as a result of the local Embroiderers Guild Branches and the Worthing Patchworkers becoming members of the Worthing Community Arts Council. With so many active textile groups and individual artists in Worthing, the need for an umbrella organisation to represent all textile art forms within the area was realised. Since then, the Textile Arts Forum has held several small exhibitions in Worthing and actively contributed to a number of community projects.

Amongst the exhibitors taking part in Sisters Select are members of the following: Barn Owl Lace Makers, Worthing Branch of the Knitting and Crochet Guild, West Sussex Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers, Worthing Branch of the Embroiderers Guild, Worthing Patchworkers and two beading groups as well as individual artists. We are delighted that members of the Young Embroiderers Group are also participating.

Look out for details of demonstrations by the exhibitors throughout the exhibition, which ends on Saturday 23 April. An added treat will be Textile Day on 9 April when all the local groups will be in the museum demonstrating their skills.
