Horsham Artists and Makers Open Houses and Studios

Artists will open their homes, studios and gardens in one of the biggest celebrations of arts in the county, when Horsham Artists' Open Studios takes place in June.

The event was formerly part of the wider Artists and Makers Festival, which saw artists open houses across Horsham and Worthing. This year, artists in Horsham town, Warnham, Slinfold, Cowfold, Partridge Green, Copsale, Plummers Plain and Steyning will stage exhibitions over two weekends.

Exhibitors include textile artists, potters, ceramicists, sculptors and jewellers alongside painters, printmakers and photographers.

Amongst the more unusual work, there's etched glass on display at Park Barn, Horsham; butterflies made from bubblewrap in Plummers Plain; an installation of deer antlers at Charlton Street Studios in Steyning and cushions made from recycled lace in Copsale.

Artists will have work at affordable prices, and guarantee a warm and friendly welcome at all venues.

“We're not holding open houses in Worthing this year, concentrating on Horsham in June and a new festival called Made In Worthing in September,” says organiser Dan Thompson, “and it will be great to start with the enjoyment and excitement created by Horsham's artists and makers.”

Horsham Artists' Open Studios takes place 20,21, 27 and 28 June, with over 50 artists exhibiting across the district. A full guide is available soon from The Capitol, at libraries and in shops across the district.
