As part of the enlarged Artists Open Houses (AOH) festival in May, any artist whose name is listed in the 2009 Open Houses brochure is entitled to register for the Selectors Choice exhibition. Work by selected artists will be shown in an exhibition at the Regency Town House in Brunswick Square throughout May. Last date for submissions is 26th February.
The exhibition will be part of House a curated festival running alongside the Open Houses. It will be given coverage in the AOH brochure and website. Eligible artists are invited to submit work on the theme of House which can be interpreted literally or metaphorically, with the selectors looking for a wide interpretation of the theme.

There are two prizes on offer to artists featured in the Selectors Choice exhibition. The Brighton Festival Prize will be awarded by the Brighton Festival director at a special award ceremony during the festival. The winning artist will receive a plaque, 500, and media coverage in The Latest magazine.
Visitbrighton will be sponsoring a Visitors Choice Prize and the winner will be announced at the end of the exhibition. The winning artists work will be shown in a dedicated gallery section of the VisitBrighton website throughout the coming year and VisitBrighton will offer the artist other promotional opportunities.
The selectors of the artists to be exhibited are:
- Nicola Coleby, Keeper of Exhibitions, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery
- Simon Martin, Art historian and Assistant Curator, Pallant House Gallery, Chichester
- Woodrow Kernohan, Director, Permanent Gallery and Exhibitions Curator, Regency Town House.
