Recycled art at Re-useful Centre

Tim Robottom, Midlands-based artist and BIAD graduate, has created a work of art for the Action 21 Re-useful Centre in Sydenham, Royal Leamington Spa.

Cascade, is a stunning, brightly coloured arrangement of recycled objects and fragments from bottles to plastic spoons, coat hangers to childrens toys, some of which belonged to the artist when he was a child. Tims work, which has been exhibited on a national and international scale, links very well with Action 21s effort to divert as many re-useable items from landfill as possible. The artist favours the use of recycled materials with the objective of raising awareness of social and environmental issues. Another element of the artists work is the cultural, historical, resource and exchange value of these materials and how they can be salvaged, redistributed and reused.

Kristie Naimo, Business Support Manager of Action 21 is very pleased about this new partnership. As well as brightening the place up, Tims work also demonstrates an exciting and beautiful way in which we can make use of unwanted plastic items. Were looking forward to Tim continuing to volunteer with us on similar projects in the future.

The work can be viewed at Action 21s Re-useful Centre, 5 Ramsey Road, Sydenham.
Opening times: 10am 4pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
