Every photo tells a story

A small photography group are holding their first exhibition in Shoreham's empty shop space Agora.

The Story Photographers were formed through a new initiative designed to boost attendance at the Kingston Buci Children and Family Centre. The centre, one of a network across the county, provides a place that children and families can go for help and advice for a range of services. These include care and education for children under 5 years, family support and outreach to parents, health services and a base for childminders. The once-a-week photography course has allowed parents and grandparents to make new friends and find a hobby that can alleviate the isolation of being a carer at home with the children. The course focuses on getting out and about with your camera, taking pleasure in improving photographic skills and having a better understanding of how every picture tells a story.

The weekly workshops will be held at Agora, the HQ of the Empty Shops Network. The organisation have been leading the campaign to recycle empty shops and other unused spaces across the UK. They are about to launch a new project, based on their work in Shoreham, on a housing estate in South Kilburn.

The Story Photographers exhibition is open at Agora, 1a New Road, Shoreham by Sea on Saturday 27th November and Sunday 28th November from 10am - 3pm
