From Warnham to West Worthing, from High Salvington to Horsham � this July, the best art can be found on the street where you live.
RAG�s Artists & Makers festival features artists� open houses and studios across Worthing and Horsham District. And with around 100 artists taking part, there�s something on show for everyone. From Fran White�s Woven Textiles (pictured, bottom), at Cooks Farm, Nuthurst and textile art by Edith Pargh Barton at Church Lane House, Church Lane, Plummers Plain to colourful contemporary photography by Eugenie Arrowsmith at 57 Melville Way, Worthing every medium is featured somewhere on the packed trail. There�s woodcarving and cement sculpture by Owen Gwatkin at 60 Irwin Drive, Horsham and hand-painted furniture by Sarah Jordan alongside digital prints by Sidney Chambers at Flat 1, 5 Selden Road, Worthing.
There are recent graduate artists at 6 Pavilion Road, Worthing alongside open houses by more experienced artists like Francesca Clarke. Showing at Bay Leaves Cottage, Hayes Lane, Slinfold, Francesca has had eight solo shows. Patrick Murray, another experienced artist, trained at St Martin�s in London and worked with many well-known artists in the 50s and 60s He opens his house at 2 Lansdowne Place, Worthing � just a few doors away from 8 Lansdowne Place, where Angela Bolton shows mosaics and acrylic paintings.
Contemporary crafts get a look-in, with rag rugs by Linda Rush, stained glass by Lou Durham and jewellery by Luna Davenport alongside paintings by Dan and Tracey Thompson, collage by Adrian Crick and prints by Sarah Young, at Thompson Towers, 18 Chancton View Road, Worthing. There are ceramics, cast pewter and jewellery alongside photography and digital art at 8 New Parade, Worthing. And driftwood, stained glass, painted floorcloth mats and much more are exhibited at 2 Westbrooke, Worthing.
Traditional and semi-abstract wildlife paintings by Alison Ingram are on show at 2 Bailing Hill Farm Cottage, Goose Green, Broadbridge Heath Road, Warnham - while Belinda Stephenson exhibits bold abstract oil paintings at 2 St Dunstan�s Road, West Worthing. In the same road, Michelle Dawson shows quirky collages at number 10.
2 by 4 Artists open their studios at The Drill Hall, Horsham and Artworks open their workshops at Unit 18, Blatchford Close, Horsham. Sheila Guyatt (pictured, top) opens her cottage at 28a Mill Road, Worthing, and exhibits work by eight artists and makers, while Eva L exhibits her own multi-media work in a striking contemporary home at 21 Furze Road, High Salvington.
Artists & Makers open houses and studios will be open on Saturday 10th, Sunday11th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th July from 10.30am � 4pm.
