Jack and Sal, a new novel by author Anthony Cropper, gets a South Coast launch at Roundabouts first birthday party.

In Jack and Sal we see two people drifting in and out of love. Jack searches for clues, for a pattern, for an explanation to lifes events. Perhaps the answer is in evolution, in dopamine, in chaos theory, or maybe it can be found in the minutiae of domesticity where the majority of lifes dramas unfold.

In the book, Anthony Cropper has produced a delicately detailed account of a troubled relationship, with a series of micro-stories and incidents that recount the intimate lies, loves and lives of Jack and Sal and their close friend Paula. The author is no stranger to Worthing: he recently spent a day on Worthing Pier with artist Dan Thompson as part of Talking Bird's Twenty Four Piers project.

The Roundabout club night was launched during last Julys arts festival, and The Bamboo Band (who played on that first night) will join Anthony Cropper for the first birthday party. Resident rock n roll poet Dan Thompson and Wendy Greene from West Sussex Writers Club will also perform. As always, there will be a warm welcome for children, with the ever-popular childrens table laden down with art activities, toys and books.

Roundabout takes place from 7 10pm on Friday 30th July at The Barn, Field Place, Worthing. Roundabout is a family-friendly event, and admission for adults costs 5 and for children just 50p. Tickets are available on the door.
