Variety returns to The Dome for special Christmas show
A Christmas show for all ages bringing an energetic modern twist to traditional variety is on offer for Worthing on 3 December with Variety at The Dome.
Taking the superb setting of The Dome Cinema on Worthing seafront, local family-friendly Matt’s Comedy Club are presenting widely acclaimed comedy troupe Slightly Fat Features in a seasonal feast of slapstick, magic, music, circus skills, silliness and audience participation.
Described as “comedy magic” by The Independent, and “laugh out loud entertainment” by the Evening Standard, the 7-strong troupe led by Goronwy Thom have been packing them in at theatres across the UK and Europe.
This year they have had a string of sell-out shows at The Roundhouse in London, followed by huge success in France where they were compared to Monty Python.
“We’re delighted to bring back to the Dome a taste of the kind of variety that audiences might have enjoyed 100 years back and more,” says Russ Bravo of Matt’s Comedy Club. “This will be a fantastic one-off Christmas show with something for everyone.”
Matt’s Comedy Club has been running regular comedy nights in the town since 2008 and launched the Worthing Comedy Festival in 2010, continuing with gigs, workshops and another festival this year. Acts who have played Matt’s include Milton Jones, John Hegley, Zoe Lyons, Jo Enright, The Noise Next Door, John Archer and Henning Wehn.
Tickets for the 7pm show are £10 adults, £8 concessions or £30 for a group of 4. Buy from The Dome box office on 01903 823112 or www.domeonline.co.uk
