Why buy something ordinary, when you can have original art, contemporary crafts and handmade Christmas decorations this December? Theres the perfect opportunity to treat yourself, your friends and your family this Christmas at the annual Artists & Makers at Christmas.

Sumptuous textiles, exclusive contemporary paintings and prints, designer jewellery, handmade Christmas cards & decorations and other affordable - but unique gifts fill the warm & comfortable interior of St Matthew's, Tarring Road, Worthing in an event which has become a firm favourite with art lovers and Christmas shoppers alike.

Over fifteen artists from the Revolutionary Arts Group are set to fill St Matthews with work to fit every shape and size of Christmas stocking - and work for every budget, too.

They include popular artist Michelle Dawson who will have a range of paintings, cards and prints for sale. Dan Thompson will also sell handmade cards, alongside collages. Elizabeth Stiles will exhibit handstitched quilts, which have won awards at regional shows. Arundel artist Linda Rush will be showing colourful contemporary rag rugs and handmade cushions. And the Costume Fairy will be bringing historic childrens costumes (as well as some Christmas fairy sets).

Sheila Guyatt will have painted driftwood decorations, watercolour paintings and cards on show. Sarah Johnson will exhibit quirky paper mache figures alongside colourful prints. Georgina Williams will show art-deco style acrylic paintings. Other artists will exhibit paintings, prints and other affordable gifts. And ten Christmas trees will be used to exhibit handmade decorations by artists, too.

Artists and Makers at Christmas takes place from 7 9pm on Friday 30th November (when there will be live music and other entertainment), and from 10am 4pm on Saturday 1st December. The Revolutionary Arts Group's fairtrade caf will be open during the event. From 12 noon on Saturday, poets will get together for a free, friendly and informal event in the caf, titled Roundabout.
