Author: Dan

A well-known author, broadcaster and journalist makes a visit to Worthing in a late addition to the Artists + Makers Festival programme. Andrew Collins will appear at Waterstones, Worthing on Friday 6th July.

Collins is well-known as a broadcaster, presenting shows on BBC Radio 2, Radio 4 and 6 Music as well as the Sony Award winning Collins & Maconies Hit Parade for Radio 1. Hes also a familiar figure from TV, having appeared as a talking head on many film and music programmes (often in his role as Film Editor for the Radio Times) and on Dr Who Confidential. His blog, Never Knowingly Underwhelmed, is a must for fans of TV and film and in the Friends Reunited book he cemented his reputation as a social commentator.

But Collins is perhaps best known for his work as the author of an autobiographical trilogy. Sunday Times bestseller Where Did It All Go Right? covers his happy childhood in the 70s, and Heaven Knows Im Miserable Now covers 80s London as a student and the start of his career in journalism (Collins has edited NME and Q Magazine). His latest novel - 'That's Me In The Corner' brings the series bang up to date, covering his career as a journalist and broadcaster. In this special Artists + Makers Festival event, Collins will recreate the slideshows of his childhood as he talks through the trilogy.

Andrew Collins appears at Waterstones, Montague Street, Worthing on Friday 6th July. Doors open at 6.45 for a 7pm start. Admission is free, but places are limited so arrive early. Collins has performed at the Edinburgh Festival, so a top quality night is guaranteed.
