Worthing First Creative

Worthing First Creative was founded by RAG’s artistic director Dan Thompson in autumn 2004, and focuses on three areas:

The Creative Quarter - with an aim to establish a dedicated Creative Quarter (possibly in the area south of Warwick Street) the group looks at role of the arts and creativity in tourism, regeneration and other issues of interest to the business community.

What Creativity Brings To Worthing – acting as advocate for the creative sector, the group is building the relationship between arts practitioners, businesses and other stakeholders in the town. Worthing First Creative acts as a lobby, as well as supporting and encouraging research into the creative sector.

Supporting The Independents – working hand-in-hand with the Small & Home-based Enterprise group, Worthing First Creative addresses the needs of self-employed artists, makers, designers, musicians and micro-businesses in Worthing. The group is hoping to see workspaces and studios established in the town.

Worthing First Creative has been active in the Worthing Evolution masterplan consultation, and the group also works closely with Worthing Arts Council – the council-recognised forum for all community & voluntary arts groups in the town.
