Empty Shops Network - Pop-Up People

Welcome|Free Resources|ProjectsMediaNetworkContact

People are filling the UK's town centres with community, creativity and a little bit of chaos. Pop-up shops, temporary and meanwhile, empty shops, shop front art ... what does it all mean for shopping, high streets and town centres?

We're spending the next three months (November 2011-January 2012) meeting the nation's pop-up people and working it all out. We're going to run five workshops around the south east and online, and make a series of research visits taking us further afield. We'll find out what\'s been going on, look for key trends, map networks and identify the best pop-up projects. We'll let you look at all of that as it happens on a live wiki, and at the end of January in a published report, which will have a go at identifying some future trends too.

What we're doing

  • run four workshops around the country, collecting information from local projects
  • manage an innovative discussion using Twitter
  • produce a piece of research, with hard facts about our town centres alongside case studies
  • create an inspirational Empty Shops Wiki

Where we'll be
