Ingrid Plum at Peace Camp
RAG Artist Ingrid Plum has been chosen to exhibit as part of PEACE CAMP at Brick Lane Gallery, a group show hosted by Bob & Roberta Smith which explores our perception and vision of Peace.

At this time of global tension, Bob and Roberta Smith, The Fucks and The Brick Lane Gallery warmly invite you to set aside your fighting spirit and experience our Peace Camp: a rich and varied art utopia in Londons East End. Running from the 2nd to the 31st of December this year, Peace Camp will unite the cream of contemporary creativity in a series of talks, exhibitions and performances motivated by a contemplative and probing spirit which asks: What is your vision of peace?

Following the success of her first solo show "Murmuration at Embassy Court", local Artist Ingrid Plum will be expanding her previous work into the context of Peace for this exhibition. "Murmuration" is the sound of many people murmuring and the collective noun for hundreds of Starlings swarming at sunset. Using poetry and origami, Ingrid Plum will explore the idea of harmony and synchronicity in nature that lies behind this word. Throughout the day, words and birds will be suspended from the ceiling of Brick Lane Gallery for members of the public to walk through. She will ask visitors to contribute by adding words expressing their own truth of the words harmony and peace, or by making an origami bird, the white crane, which represents peace. By the end of the day, Brick Lane Gallery will be swarming with birds and murmurings of peace from all who have visited.

Ingrid will be resident at Brick Lane Gallery for one day only - Thursday 28th December 1pm - 6pm. She says, "Drop in anytime between 1pm and 6pm. All contributions or just your company are welcome!"
