The annual West Sussex Art Society exhibition shows a fresh new outlook from the group, which was founded in 1929. Recent years have seen an influx of new artists, and the 2004 exhibition sees an increased emphasis on bold, colourful, and contemporary arts.

Work in the show includes conceptual sculpture by artist Dan Thompson (pictured), a vibrant abstract landscape (inspired by Phillip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials') by Tracey Thompson, and '4 Poets' a digital drawing by Steve Carroll (which has been selected by judge Nick Martin as the best in the show). There is also sculptural work by the society's president, Philip Jackson.

The work was selected, from submissions, by Northbrook College tutors Theresa Whitfield and Chris Lowe, and the Assistant Curator For Art, Laura Kidner.

The exhibition, offering something for everyone, takes place at Worthing Museum & Art Gallery, Chapel Road, Worthing from 27th March - 5th June and is open from 10am - 5pm daily. Admission is free.
