National Poetry Day -7th October

Each year, wandering poet Dan Thompson takes to the streets to celebrate National Poetry Day with free performances in shops, galleries, schools and libraries across West Sussex.

This year, the theme is Food - and Dan will be travelling with a box full of tasty poems, with writers like Benjamin Zephaniah and Roger McGough featuring alongside his own work. In addition to the performances, each lasting 10 - 20 minutes, Dan will use the internet to post poems throughout the day.

Dan is currently looking for venues that want to join in the annual celebration, which promotes poetry as easy-to-understand, accesible and relevant to the 21st Century.
