National Poetry Day

Local readers and writers are invited to join in a celebration of the written and spoken word centred on the Lime Cafe at St. Paul's, Worthing. A competition with three age groups (over 19, 16-19 and uner 16) will lead to a short list published in The Worthing Herald and the winners winners performed live (for you or by you) on the night. Prizes from Kim’s Bookshop. The Poetry Wall is freely available all day. Texts will be displayed and you can come in and browse, add your own favourite or one of your own works. The café is open all day. Read, contribute, eat, drink and enjoy. In the evening, a performance by Patience Agbabi is preceded by Voices Various, performing well known texts and some new discoveries, including local competition winners. Entry details for the competition (free) and tickets for the event (£10 or less) plus more at or 01903 529084, or contact
