Printmaker Brenda Hartill in Hastings exhibition

Printmaker Brenda Hartill's richly coloured textured works, often enhanced with silver and gold leaf, are being exhibited in Hastings.

Recent work is a series of collagraphs with energy, heat and coolness as a theme. Her early New Zealand experiences lead to an on-going fascination with the power of the earth: earthquakes, volcanoes, geology, erosion, as well as weather patterns, global warming, natural textures and universal forms, leading to her current images.  She is best known for her embossed abstract collagraphs and etchings, as well as her collages and mixed media works, but occasionally returns to more representational images.

Brenda is a member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers, showing regularly in London at the Bankside Gallery, and the New Academy Gallery, and shows in many UK galleries, as well as in Spain, Australia and New Zealand.  Her work is in the collections of many large companies.

On Saturday 29 August at 3 p.m. Brenda will give an illustrated  talk, and video demonstration about her work, and print techniques. Tickets to the lecture and discussion will cost £3, including a glass of wine. Proceeds to the Hastings Arts Forum

The exhibition of her work is at The Arts Forum, 36A The Marina, St Leonards-on-Sea from 20th August - 1st September.
