Wigan Wonders at Brighton Media Centre

Wigan Wonders features paintings, illustrations, animated films, limited edition screen prints, polaroids, artists books and publications on Illustration written by Mark Wigan.

The exhibition takes place at Brighton Media Centre. Wigan first gained recognition in the early 1980s for his illustrations for NME and iD magazine. Many of Wigan's projects have taken place in Japan including the launch of his own chain of 'art to wear' merchandise shops.

Other commissions have included murals for nightclubs and city expos, set designs for TV shows and animation for TV commercials. He has exhibited in galleries all over the world including The Circulo des Belles Artes in Madrid and Spiral Hall in Tokyo.

Alongside the Brighton exhibition there is also a book launch, at 1pm on Saturday 13 June. Wigan will be signing his latest book, ‘The Visual Dictionary of Illustration’, published by AVA. Featuring more than 250 terms, this book is a guide to the many and varied terms used frequently within illustration.
