Brockwell Lido Want Artist In Residence
The artist will run a site-specific participatory art project in collaboration with the Heritage Education Co-Ordinator.
The artist will be rsident for seventy hours and because of the nature of the setting, the artist must be able to be flexible and responsive to weather conditions in choosing which days to work. The collaboration will be part of the Lido’s heritage education programme, the aim of which is to engage the public with what is unique and compelling about Brockwell Lido and give expression to their thoughts and feelings about it.
The Artist in Residence and the Heritage Education Co-Ordinator will collaborate to plan a series of site-specific participatory poolside art activities during August. In September they will choose a way to present their own work and the work of participants in a cohesive fashion and will prepare the work for presentation. On the first weekend in October they will present the work and run a poolside activity for members of the public as part of The Big Draw.
A budget is available for materials and processes. The closing date for applications is March 7th and interviews will be held on March 18th and 19th.
