Worthing Badge Supports Seaside Renaissance

A Worthing artist is continuing an innovative campaign to promote the town where he lives.

Dan Thompson has designed a series of small badges with the town's name on them, which can be worn to show your support for the Sussex seaside town which is at the start of a massive regeneration programme.

Each badge is made as a limited edition - and two designs last year sold out within days. The badges have travelled, with buyers sending them as far afield as Canada, America, Australia and New Zealand.

The third badge in the series is a new design with a 1930s seaside feel, with 'Worthing' in a fairground font against a background of stripes in beach colours.

Dan is well known for his support for his hometown, and has actively campaigned to save the historic Dome Cinema and Worthing Museum & Art Gallery from closure; to bring public art to the town; and for more support for small, local and creative businesses in the area. As an artist, he has exhibited in the Brighton Festival, Adur Festival, and at venues across the county.

The new badge is available from flashBANG, a photography studio and gallery in Warwick Street, Worthing. FlashBANG has hosted a number of exhibitions by Dan and other artists from the Revolutionary Arts Group, which he runs.

A limited number of the badges are available from this website; click the 'Buy Now' button and we'll post one to you (UK buyers only):
