Eastbourne's Redoubt Fortress Offers Opportunity For Artists

Blue Monkey Studio would like to invite Sussex based artists to join them in showing site specific work at The Redoubt Fortress, Eastbourne during Eastbourne Festival, from the 11th to 26th April 2009.

Proposals can be submitted for existing work which in some way links to this exciting location, or new work which responds to the site, and/or its history and previous uses (now a military museum, the Redoubt previously housed the Aquarium, Music Garden and Model Village).

Sound, video, live art, interactive art and performance will all be considered as will 2D and 3D work, installation and interventions within the museum or other parts of the building.

Organisers are unable to offer expenses, however benefits include press coverage, documentation on the Festival blogs, and promotion of the show via the Festival brochure.

At present The Redoubt Fortress is closed for the winter, re-opening on the 11th April 2009. Before submitting proposals artists can tour the site with Museums Curator, Fran Stovold on Monday 5th January at 11.30 am. Phone 01323 723877 to book a place on the tour.
