The Gloaming Gets Portsmouth Premiere
Hampshire artist and filmmaker Kye Wilson will hold a ‘sneak preview’ screening of his new recently completed short film ‘The Gloaming’.
The film is a 15-minute supernatural thriller, which has been devised, written and produced with an experimental aesthetic. It’s been created primarily by local artists and filmmakers; part funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and received support from Screen South and the RIFE Lottery Fund via City Eye's Open Lens Awards.
Kye Wilson uses the moving image to blur the realms of filmmaking and video art. He uses the technical expertise of conventional narrative filmmaking combined with the experimental and unconventional approach of video art. His works have been exhibited in both cinematic and art gallery environments nationally and internationally.
This free event will take place at the John Pounds Centre, Portsmouth on Friday 19th December 2008 from 7.30pm. The evening will also feature live performance (Helena Eflerova), music (Jonty) and short films by local artists (Denise Callender and Neil Hunt).
A limited edition 2-Disc version of ‘The Gloaming’ DVD will be available to purchase on the evening.
