Popular Hastings character Terry Sorby, who received a Mayoral Award for Services to the Community earlier this year, will be hosting the opening event of the Books Born in Hastings celebrations at the Jenny Lind in the High Street, Hastings Old Town as part of the Coastal Currents Arts Festival.
Terry will be signing and talking about his new book Roadie & Co from 2pm on Friday, 29th August, opening a three week long programme of events at the Jenny which includes workshops for readers and writers, exhibitions of local art and books, and talks and signings by local authors including Monica Tracey, whose book Unweaving the Thread featured on Richard and Judy; Steve Peak, author of the popular history Fishermen of Hastings; thriller writer Andy Oakes and one of Hastings latest success stories, Kate O Hearn, whose Shadow of the Dragon was published by Hodder & Stoughton earlier this year.
A full list of the events at the Jenny Lind, which run from 29th August to 21st September, can be seen on the local events page at www.earlyworkspress.co.uk
Please note: The Coastal Currents brochure has erroneously listed Terry Sorbys book launch at the Jenny Lind on the 19th August. The correct date is the 29th.
