Music, Morris and More at Boutique Hotel
Cutting edge music, contemporary art, and morris dance that's what's on offer in a new programme of events at the Beechwood Hall in Worthing. Artist Debbie Zoutewelle is the hotel's new manager, and she is planning a range of arts and music events for spring and summer.

To launch the season, Debbie has invited Sompting Village Morris to a special breakfast as part of their May Day celebrations. The traditional procession starts on May 1st at 6.30am in Worthing town centre, and members of the Morris side will stop at Beechwood Hall at 8.30am for breakfast. The public are welcome to turn up and join the dancers who may be persuaded to perform in the hotel gardens.

From Monday 19th-Wednesday 21st May, photography students from Northbrook College use The Cellar to exhibit photography, film and installation work. Students are producing artwork inspired by the venue and its history, and the exhibition will be designed to fit the unusual space with its corners, cubby-holes and corridors.

On Friday 6th June, the Floating Fish Cabaret hold their monthly night in the restaurant. The event, organised by local band The Golgi Apparatus, is a mix of music, comedy, drama and literature.

Eclectric Ballroom is another monthly night, described as 'part-Never Mind The Buzzcocks, part-60s art happening, part-open mic night'. Hosted by Ben Salter, there is a regular quiz hosted by Pete Fijalkowski and a different line-up of musicians for every event. Eclectric Ballroom takes places in Beechwood Hall's The Cellar on Friday 30th May and Friday 20th June. On Friday 18th July, there will be a special night as part of the Artists and Makers Festival.

It's not the only Artists and Makers Festival event at Beechwood Hall. From Friday 4th-Sunday 20th July, the Revolutionary Arts Group will exhibit artwork around the hotel. A range of paintings, photographs and prints will be on show in the foyers, restaurant, bars and guest bedrooms.

And on Thursday 17th July, the Revolutionary Arts Group's sister organisation Revolutionary Music will host a night of DJs, live acts, performance art and live poetry in The Cellar. A full guide to the Artists and Makers Festival will be available from Beechwood Hall.

Beechwood Hall is a Grade 2 listed building in Amelia Park, Wykeham Road, Worthing. Built in the 'Swiss Cottage' style, the hotel has thirteen rooms alongside a restaurant and a year-round marquee.
