Telling Tales in Horsham, Steyning and Pulborough

Whether you simply have a passion for writing and want to learn more, or have a specific interest, two-day workshops as part of the new Telling Tales project will give you a chance to experiment and take risks within a supportive and creative environment.

The groups will be led by professional writers who will offer support and advice on technique. As part of the project, a collection of the ‘tales’ will go on public display in The Capitol and in libraries throughout the Horsham district.

The Telling Tales project will be led by Claudia Gold and Caterine Smith
Claudia Gould has a BA in English Language and Literature from Douglass College, Rutgers University (USA) and a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Birmingham. She is the author of Benjamin the True, a novel for young people, and a collection of short stories based on her doctoral research awaits publication. She has been a songwriter and performer.

Catherine Smith writes prose, poetry and drama. Twenty of her short stories (several prize-winning) have been published in the UK, and two have been broadcast on BBC Radio 4's 'afternoon reading' slot. Her poems have been widely published in journals and newspapers, including the Rialto, Smiths Knoll, Magma, Dreamcatcher and Poetry London, and in various poetry anthologies, including The Forward Book of Poetry for 2004 and 2005 and in the recently published The Brighton Book.
