Paul Brown's Old Red Reunion
May 2008 will see the 10th anniversary of the death of popular Worthing actor and drama teacher Paul Brown.
Local writer Wendy Greene, has teamed up with actors David and Shirley Norton to organise a reunion for friends, students and actors involved in Brown's work
The 'Old Red Reuinion' will take place on Saturday 3rd May at 7.45pm in the Barn Theatre, Field Place, Worthing. The venue was originally a property store for a local repertory theatre, until Paul Brown led a campaign to convert the space into a studio theatre. It became home to Brown's 'Old Red Melodrama Company', of which Wendy Greene was a member.
"If you can provide entertainment, whether it be something from one of the shows or something of your own, just let us know," says Wendy Greene, "and if you are in contact with people who have moved away, please let them know about the event. We want to know where they are and what they’ve been up to, even if they can’t make it on the night."
Tickets are £10 to include a buffet and there will be a bar. Any profits will go to Barn Ward at Worthing Hospital - a place where young people are treated for cancer and leukaemia. The 'Old Red Reunion' is supported by Lick Music.
