If All the World Were Paper

Children’s theatre company Oily Cart take audiences on a magical multi-sensory journey of discovery to an imaginary world made entirely of paper.

Aimed at children aged two to five, If All the World Were Paper is inspired by the centuries old nursery-rhyme as well as Victorian paper theatre and comedia dell’arte costume
Young audiences will be introduced to Doodle -a lively musician and his friends Curlicue and Squiggle who make all sorts of things from paper, including a chain of Paper Girls. Separated from her paper-chain sisters when a strong wind blows, one of the Paper Girls embarks upon a journey to find her family again. The audience join her as she travels through a weird and wonderful paper world and encounters all manner of colourful characters on the way.

Full of multi-sensory activities, original music and simple activities involving folding, tearing and colouring paper, this show explains to children that new environments can often be fun.
