Stacey Kent - one of the hottest acts on the international jazz stage comes to Chichester Festival Theatre this month as part of a world tour. Accompanied by her multi-talented band of musicians, she will be singing from her brand new album Breakfast on the Morning Tram.

Breakfast On The Morning Tram sees Stacey Kents return to the studio after a four-year recording hiatus. Signalling a fresh new era to her music, the album contains four original tracks, including the title track, all written by the Booker and Whitbread prize-winning author, Kazuo Ishiguro and producer and husband, Jim Tomlinson.

Staceys association with Ishiguro began in 2002 when Ishiguro chose Staceys recording of They Cant Take That Away From Me on the BBC Radio show, Desert Island Discs. Subsequently, he wrote the liner notes for her album, In Love Again.

Stacey said: Nothing has ever been quite so exciting as having songs written especially for me by two people I admire so much. Both Jim and Kazuo Ishiguro seem to understand me so implicitly that it seems as though I have always known their songs. Kazuos lyrics are like short stories and dont follow conventional song forms and Jims melodies seem to capture the mood of the lyrics perfectly. The musical worlds they create just knock me out!

Kents first album Close Your Eyes catapulted the young US Jazz Singer to fame and she now boasts six best-selling albums, a string of awards, including the 2001 British Jazz Award and 2002 BBC Jazz Award for 'Best Vocalist'.

Stacey Kent will be at Chichester Festival Theatre on Tuesday 6 November at 7.30pm for one night only.
