Petworth Pupils Make Macbeth For Festival Theatre
The sound of Verdis dramatic music has been echoing around Petworth primary schools this year as part of a community project for pupils to create their very own opera.

The project, in association with Arts Education specialists Create2Learn, has been underway since July with 250 primary school pupils working with a professional composer and storyteller. They will be joined this month by a professional director, opera singer and musicians to create a bewitching new piece to be performed at Chichester Festival Theatre on 3rd October

'This year we have used Verdis wonderful opera Macbeth as an inspiration,' says composer Howard Moody, 'and I love the fact that we are creating an entirely new form of theatre, led by the childrens original ideas.'

Director of Create2Learn, Rebekah Bernstein said 'The Opera Project is now in its fifth year and never fails to capture the attention and imagination of both the children and their teachers.'

The final performance of the Making Macbeth project will be at Chichester Festival Theatre on Wednesday 3 October at 6pm. Tickets are 6 adults (concs. 5) available online or from the Box Office.
