Artists & Makers at Worthing Museum & Art Gallery

Unusual art mixed with contemporary crafts? It could only be Artists & Makers from Sussex group RAG!

Formed in 2000, the group have built a national reputation for the way that they mix cutting edge art and more traditional crafts. Artists & Makers at Worthing Museum & Art Gallery continues the trend – with digital prints alongside decorated driftwood, traditional rag rugs mixed with 21st century drawing, and fine-art painting alongside funky handmade books, badges and cards.
Around a dozen members of RAG will be exhibiting in the intimate Norwood Gallery, upstairs in the museum. “This is a showcase of all that’s best in Sussex,” says RAG’s Debbie Zoutewelle, “with work in every style and to suit every budget.”

Artists include Guy Atherstone White, Nathan Bean, Christine Forbes, Sheila Guyatt, Tricia Neve,Ingrid Plum, Linda Rush, Dan Thompson, Tracey Thompson, Georgina Williams and Debbie Zoutewelle.

RAG are returning to Worthing Museum & Art Gallery after a controversial visit in 2001, which saw the group grab the front pages of the local press with a video of two dolls burning. Has time mellowed them? Probably not…

Artists & Makers at Worthing Museum & Art Gallery takes place from 9th September – 11th November. Worthing Museum & Art gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday from 10am – 5pm and admission is free.

This looks like being a packed show! We're exhibiting in the Norwood Gallery (named for Worthing Museum & Art Gallery's former curator John Norwood) which is an intimate space behind the main upstairs gallery. And artists include Guy Atherstone White, Nathan Bean, Christine Forbes, Sheila Guyatt, Tricia Neve,Ingrid Plum, Linda Rush, Tracey Thompson, Georgina Williams, Debbie Zoutewelle and myself. That's a lot of work in a small room!
