Non-Photography Day

17th July 2006 is the first 'Non-Photography Day'

The day is a calendar sculpture which urges people to stop photographing and engage directly with life around them.
The aim is to have a day that would go undocumented, un captured. It is also a time to think about new technology and understand its limitatations, both in the act of photographing and photographs themselves.

The day is inspired by Zen and the tension between new technology and these spiritual beliefs.

The 17th is the final day of the Artists & Makers Festival - and as I'll have taken hundreds of pictures throughout the Festival, I'll happily be taking none at all on Non Photography Day. Anyone else joining in?
