'Heat' at Chalk Gallery, Lewes

Do you have a burning passion to own an original piece of real art? Then come along to Heat (5th June to 16th July) where the art is real, original, affordable and so, so hot! hot! hot! it's bouncing off the walls.

Ben Whitehead, the visual designer for Chalk Gallery, is the featured artist 5th to 25th June. "My work is usually concentrated on my obsession with layers - whether its printing, painting, collage or digital" says Ben, "and all my work consists of experimentation and juxtaposition of colour, shape, texture and mark making, often incorporating fragments of previous drawings, photographs and prints"

Phyllis Hall, featured artist, follows on - 26th June to 16th July - and fills her space with canvases that she hopes will give you the sense of the magical - 'to make the invisible, visible' and that you the voyeur becomes responsive to her ideas and images.

Her work is concerned with the dynamic mysterious world of creation and the paintings are evolved gradually in an organic way whereby Phyllis is not in complete control of the process.
