Art on the River Summer Exhibition

The 14th May heralds the start of the 12th annual exhibition for Art on the River artists.

As ever this exhibition is the showcase of twelve local very talented professional artists. It fatures work in a wide range of medium, including ceramic sculpture and jewellery by Michele Findlay (pictured).

It features new paintings/mixed media of vibrant flowers by Mary Beaney (founder and promoter of Art on the River Exhibitions); boats and raging storms by Jill Emslie; scorched canvasses by Viv Cecil; atmospheric coastal watercolours by Angela Perrin; and images of Sussex and Kenya by wildlife photographer Adam Beaney.

There are also a number of guest artists - spectacularly luscious semi-abstract oil paintings by Kris Powley; vibrant fluid ink paintings of flowers, vegetables and fruit by Elda Abramson and garden pottery inspired by the fairies at the bottom ... by Julie Snowball.

This year joining the stalwarts are three new faces to Art on the River Exhibitions - Kate Sayers and her strikingly colourful watercolours; the inspirational semi-abstract work of Sarah Stokes and Christine Dunn's minimalist paintings of buds.

Intrigued? then do pop along to Pevensey Village for a helping of culture (Pevensey Castle) and real affordable art in the tranquil setting on the banks of the River Haven. As always - that is the exciting place to be!

Art on the River, takes place at the Riverside Studio, Haven Farm, High Street, Pevensey Village and is open 14th, 20th, 21st; 27th, 28th, 29th May, 2006 - 11.00am to 5.00pm each day. Admission is Free.
