Will They, Won't They? The Zutons Reviewed

What a breath of fresh air they are amongst all this safe non descript rock of Keane, Oldplay, Radiodead and Traverse.

By 'the kids' reception of going wild, maybe they want a bit of variety in their life. It's nice to see The Zutons and the Polyphonic Spree bringing something different.
The only disappointment was The Stands as support, they're so bland. But maybe The Zutons wanted that to accentuate their 'hipness'. And of course, annoying young indie girls jumping up and down and being 'alternative and different' reminded me of the Factory days in Worthing, so that made me feel old!

A fantastic triumphant opening of The Zuton Fever with crashing drums and the back drop falling down to display their album cover, lights, smoke - proper rock n'roll extravagance. Onwards through the big hits Pressure Point and Confusion from their debut Who Killed The Zutons? Plus some very good new tunes to look out for.

A marvellous musical melee of sax, drums and guitars. They are not afraid of rhythm and getting a groove going. They finished on the climatic You Will, You Won't, before leaving the stage. A sell out crowd near fever pitch were demanding more, and The Zutons came back for a crescendo piece of all five members going hell for leather, sax, drums and rock n'roll!!

Do you like The Zutons?.....You do, you don't,....you will, you wont... I do...

Wish I'd been there ... The Zutons and Kasabian are top of my list of bands I'd like to see live. Does anyone else find The Zutons reminiscent of Dexys Midnight Runners, by the way?
