Double Vision at Petworth Gallery

Two popular artists have joined forces for an exhibition in a prestigious West Sussex venue.

Michelle Dawson and Belinda Stephenson have teamed up to stage an exhibition of their work in the gallery at Petworth House. Inspired by the beautiful venue, they have both produced new work for the exhibition. The two artists have different styles and approaches so the variety of work on show should appeal to all tastes.

Michelle comes from an illustration background and produces quirky pictures using a variety of materials. For this exhibition she has produced a series of painted collages inspired by the colour and texture of the stone of Petworth House. Michelle is a member of arts group RAG, and some of her work can be viewed in her gallery at the Artists & Makers website.

Belinda is a fine artist who focuses on abstract, textured oil paintings. This exhibition sees her using Turner and Petworth as her inspiration. This has resulted in experimental studies of the surrounding landscape in oils and mixed media.

The exhibition, titled Double Vision, runs from Saturday 19th – Wednesday 30th March. It is open from 11am – 5pm daily, except Saturday 19th when it is open from 1pm – 5pm and Thursday 24th March when the gallery is closed.
