RAG Artists In Brighton Lanes Art Market

The popular Brighton Lanes Art Market makes its first 2005 appearance on Saturday 5th February.

Held on the first Saturday of every month, from 10.30am - 5.30pm, the Art Market at the Friends Meeting House in Ship Street, Brighton has proven to be a great place for discovering affordable contemporary art created by local artists and makers.

Work for sale includes abstract and figurative paintings, limited edition prints, photography, ceramics, sculpture, jewellery, textiles and cards by more than 20 artists.  And with the Art Market happening just before Valentine's Day, it's the perfect place to find a unique gift, handmade card, or extra special present for a loved one.

Organiser and artist Caroline Brown says, "The Brighton Lanes Art Market proves that art can be affordable all year round - not just during the Festival! It's a great opportunity for artists to meet and sell direct to the public in relaxed surroundings."

The Art Market draws on an ever-growing database of artists, including well known Brighton names such as Nick Orsborn and Jan Mnich, and emerging artists like Natalie Martin and Cat Ingrams - sure to be names to look out for this year.

And the organisers have just forged a new partnership with well-known West Sussex group RAG, meaning even more up-and-coming contemporary talent will be on show. For the first Art Market of 2005, RAG artists Dan Thompson, Eva L, Sheila Guyatt and Michelle Dawson will be exhibiting.

This long list of participating artists ensures that different high standard work is available at each event, so be sure to the put it in your diary every month!
